Bpao, 7
The youngest of 5, though only 4 live with us, Bpao has been heavily indulged in her short life. But habits we once wondered if they were even possible to change, have given way to new ones that have opened a much more contented world to our almost-but-not quite youngest little girl.

August 2025 Update
Bpao turned seven earlier this year, and she’s already started counting down the days until her next birthday. She also began first grade and was excited to have Awa and Chai in her class so she wouldn’t have to go alone.
Recently, Bpao has been struggling with saying bad words since she hears them so often at school. We’ve talked with her about the importance of her words, prayed with her to be more careful in how she speaks, and we’ve already seen so much improvement.
Bpao has two very different sides to her. At times, she’s the life of the party—running around, laughing, and playing. Other times, she prefers to sit quietly by herself, doing something calm, or spending time with an adult, sharing about her day. It’s been really special to get a glimpse into her world in those moments.
One of the things that stands out most about Bpao is her adorable smile. She smiles big and crinkles her nose up. It matches her giggle that usually follows.
Please continue to pray for Bpao as she grows in her relationship with Jesus and learns to follow what she knows is right.

Her Story
Each child's story is their own to tell so we share only the parts that are appropriate. In time, we believe the testimony that God is giving them is something they'll share to help and encourage others. Until that time, we will share those things which aren't too deeply personal but will still give you insight into the hearts and minds of these young people God has sent to us.

October 2024 Update
Things she loves: hugs, playing pretend, riding a bike, dolls, being with her big sisters, singing.

Things she doesn't love: being hungry but also having to eat food she doesn't like, which covers a lot of the food we feed her. :)

This little darling of a girl is slight of frame, on the dainty side, and yet full of vim and vigor. She's walked the path from overly cherished (aka spoiled) little sister, to a patient and enduring young girl with a grace that defies her age. If there's ever been an about-face in one of the children we've worked to raise, she's surely the one.

She started school this year with eagerness but, as happens often here, she changed her mind after the first day or two. The excitement settled and the appeal abated. Every now and then we can't find a piece of her uniform and we use it as an excuse to keep her close by for the day. Oh, how we wish the way would open so we could keep her home permanently.

Until then, we'll continue to watch this eager-to-be loved child grow and blossom and God pours out His blessing over her sweet little heart.
